The Jasper Pride Festival is back for its 8th year and preparing to paint the town rainbow from March 9-12, 2017 to promote understanding and inclusiveness for the LGBTQA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Questioning and Allied) community.

Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy some fan favourite winter activities with a colourful twist! Marmot Basin will host Pride Ski – an exciting ski tour around Marmot Basin’s 3,000 vertical feet of extraordinary skiing and snowboarding on 1,675 acres of varied terrain exclusively for Pride guests. Another key experience will be Pride on the Hill – where participants dress up in costume and honour the Pride flag while shredding the slopes as a unified group. To make this an even more momentous occasion, the Pride Party at Mid-Chalet will be offering great drinks and BBQ food provided by Marmot Basin and epic entertainment from Virgin Radio.

In addition to all the favourite classic winter exploration opportunities with a twist in Jasper National Park, the Jasper Pride Festival has plenty of parties and entertainment to enjoy like the Pride Kick Off Party. Whistler’s Inn will host the official kick off party on Thursday March 9th at the Whistle Stop Pub. With complimentary snacks and appetizers, it’s the perfect place to sit back, relax with a drink and meet old and new friends. All legal aged adults are welcome to kick off the Jasper Pride Festival in style! Check out all events.

The options for festivities are endless, Jasper Brewing Co. will host the third annual Jasper Pride Beer on March 9th. All beers are created with pure, natural Rocky Mountain water sourced from the Great Canadian Rockies, and proceeds from all Pride Beer sales all weekend long go to support the Jasper Pride Festival Society. Embracing the festival’s Proud & Free Canadian theme, this year the sample beer options are a Red Rye Lager and a White (Wheat) Ale.

Virgin Radio hosts Ian and Chelsea are back to host the Jasper Proud and Free Gala at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge on Saturday, March 11th. The excitement will be flowing throughout the evening with the annual silent auction fundraiser, burlesque group “Send in the Girls”, boylesque group “Man Up!”, and an action packed drag queen performance by “Banff Pride Troupe”.
