After years of research, blending and tasting, Cincoro Tequila  was born from a passion to create the world’s finest tequila,  uniquely made with the highest quality 100% Weber Blue agave from private farms in both the highland and lowland regions of Jalisco, Mexico.

The agave is hand-selected, slow-cooked and distilled in separate small batches, creating two distinct distillates, which are then artfully blended to create Cincoro Blanco, one of four Cincoro expressions. The Reposado, Añejo and Extra Añejo expressions are barrel-aged in an underground cellar to maximize flavour and complexity. The signature Cincoro taste profile highlights the terroir of the agave, and each expression is a one-of-a-kind tequila experience akin to a single malt scotch, American craft bourbon or fine wine.

The Cincoro family portfolio offers four luxurious, award-winning tequila expressions each in a classic 750mL bottle, starting with the entry level Blanco (unaged), followed by the Reposado (aged 8 to 10 months), the Añejo (aged 24 to 28 months) and the luxurious Extra Añejo (aged 40 to 44 months).

TASTE TEST This is the smoothest tequila I’ve tasted. I’m talking easy sipping, no shooting it back. The barrel-aging process behind the Resposado definitely adds to the complexity of the taste, and being 100% agave based makes it stand out among others. Cincoro means “five gold” in Spanish, a reflection of the five founding partners, and also inspiration for the souvenir five-sided engraved glass bottle that it comes in. This will definitely stand above your other bar brands at home, not only in quality, but in size. It should be proudly placed on the mantle piece as a work of art. Beyond drinking Cincoro neat or over ice, it’s also wonderful mixed in proper proportions in cocktails, and an upscale margarita to impress friends. The end result is powering and powerful. Pick up a bottle at your local LCBO in Ontario and enjoy all year long!

In July 2016, a group of friendly professional basketball rivals, Jeanie Buss of Los Angeles, Wes Edens of Milwaukee, Emilia Fazzalari and Wyc Grousbeck of Boston and Michael Jordan of Charlotte, met for dinner. They began the evening as acquaintances and after sharing stories and discovering a mutual love of tequila, they quickly formed the foundation of an extraordinary partnership. Not long thereafter, the five new friends took the bold step of starting a company from scratch, ensuring their vision for a new style of tequila that was smooth on the palate, rich and complex in flavor, with a long luxurious finish.

To complement the exquisite tequila, the team commissioned Mark Smith, former Vice President of Innovation Special Projects at Nike, to design the bottle, packaging and brand identity system. Smith previously worked with on other Jordan-focused products including Air Jordan. The sleek, contemporary and unique bottle is a glass sculpture of the agave leaf that highlights the liquid with a five-sided base, showcasing the Cincoro Fire Agave icon in the punt at a 23-degree angle, topped with a king’s crown crystal stopper. The name Cincoro, translating to “five gold” in Spanish (“cinco” meaning five, “oro” meaning gold), pays homage to the five founding partners and their pursuit to create the gold standard in tequila.

Prior to the brand launch, Cincoro Tequilas have won 16 medals across the portfolio at prestigious spirits competitions including a “Double Gold” for Cincoro Reposado at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Cincoro inspires spirits lovers to sip, savor and smile by enjoying neat, on the rocks, or in a favorite cocktail with friends and family.
