Austria’s Pink Lake Festival
From August 28th to 31st, 2014, the international LGBT community and friends will gather in the southernmost province of Austria on beautiful Lake Woerthesee in Carinthia. This region is often referred to as Austria’s Monte Carlo, as tourists descend every summer to absorb the sunny rays and warm waters.
This seventh year will bring many new surprises and new locations, alongside the much beloved classics from prior years. As a kick off to the Pink Lake festival on Thursday 28 there will be the much anticipated return of the Almdudler Costume Party, taking place in the center of the city of Velden. Friday evening features a Casino Club Night in the newly designed Casineum the Lake, under the motto ” Just Dance!”. A sensational DJ line-up and some hot go-go dancers will provide the perfect mood until the early morning hours. Saturday evening, the Troika Boat Cruise Party is the final event of the party trilogy. Two ships from the Wörthersee Shipping Company will be filled with partiers dancing the night away on Lake Wörthersee as a stunning festival backdrop.
In addition to the evening festivities, the Pink Lake Beach Club will take place this year in the perfect chillout atmosphere of the SOL Beach Club at Hotel Park’s Velden. The program includes a body painting artist who transforms the naked body into a living work of art. Lounge music and laid-back entertainment invite guests to relax and bathe in both the late summer sun, as well as the turqoise, crystal clear lake waters. The SOL Beach Club is also known for its exciting fusion cuisine menu, where Asia meets Carinthia.
The annual Pink Lake event is known for its relaxed and friendly atmosphere for those seeking something other than big city Pride celebrations. Tickets for the Pink Lake Festival will be available as of June 2014 on the Pink Lake website www.PinkLake.at.
