Calvet, one of the oldest French wine brands in the world, will be launching their new sparkling Calvet Celebration Rosé here in Ontario exclusively at the LCBO, arriving May 2021. The unique cut glass bottle contains an elegant, pale pink liquid with notes of floral and red berries.  Enjoyed on its own or as an aperitif, this expression pairs well with salads, light pasta dishes or seafood. Pop this one open for special occasions, or for one of those much needed “me days”. This is the most perfect way to add a burst to spring, and it’s oh so fresh and bubbly!

The LCBO lists the Celebration Rosé  as, “A lively and elegant sparker. It pours a bright pink with a fine mousse. Shows aromas and flavours of wild red berries, herb and floral tones. The palate is creamy and rounded, with refreshing bubbles, balanced acidity and light strawberry notes on the finish. Great as an aperitif or paired with appetizers and white meats.”

Retails at $16.95 for a 750ml bottle. 12% ABV.

In addition to the Celebration Rosé, there’s the traditional Calvet Rosé that’s available in pouch format. This practical, on-the-go packaging allows for more casual and everyday enjoyment that is ideal for socially-distanced spring and summer outdoor activities, while being eco-friendly packaged. The handy carry handle and pour spout are both sturdy enough to lug to the beach or a picnic, or just to leave in the fridge to grab a glass whenever the mood strikes. Even if not a fan of rosé, this one comes off less sweet tasting than the typical rosé selection on the market. Very palatable.

Retails at $19.95 for a 1.5L pouch. 12% ABV.

The pouch satisfies your traditional rosé craving, while the bottle adds the sparkling effervescence!

Jean Marie Calvet was born in 1799 in a small village within the Rhone wine region of France. Gaining inspiration from his father’s passion for wine making, he started up the Calvet Company at the age of 19, and the tradition continues on today over a century later. Calvet has an extensive catalogue of French wines, with a primary focus on producing value wine from Bordeaux.

Acclaimed for its quality and authenticity, Calvet is offering a French sparkling wine just in time for the beginning of warmer weather. Originating from Cremant de Bordeaux, France, Calvet Celebration Rosé is made with the same production process as the famous Champagne region.
