Costa Navarino, the sustainably driven destination in the Mediterranean, located in the Greek region of Messinia in the southwest Peloponnese. that has committed to ensuring that the diversified needs of everyone visiting the destination can be accommodated. With that goal in mind, the destination embarked on a journey over a year ago, to ensure that all guests’ needs and preferences are anticipated and foreseen.

As a result, the recently opened W Costa Navarino resort property along the Navarino Waterfront has received a major accolade by being accredited by the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association (IGLTA) for its inclusivity practices. IGLTA Accredited is a new program that serves as the gold standard of assurance that travel brands are committed to promoting equality and safety for LGBTQ+ travellers. For a brand to be recognized as IGTLA Accredited, travel organizations and properties need to meet a comprehensive, eight-part criteria through an evaluation that showcases evidence-based allyship.

W Costa Navarino marks the debut of W Hotels in Greece. The Escape welcomes exclusively adults and young adults over 12 years old and brings contemporary design and inspiring energy to the Navarino Waterfront 13-hectare beachfront site, the newest integrated resort area of Costa Navarino. Vivid and bright, with a distinctive design inspired by the region’s architecture, W Costa Navarino shows stylish accommodations with swim-up rooms, airy one and two-bedroom suites with their own pools, and fantastic beachfront villas with their private pools set against the stunning Ionian sunset. Playful public spaces, five dining venues, including a vibrant Beach Club, a wellness area with AWAY® Spa and FIT gym to fuel body and mind, together with inventive yet authentic cuisine and welcoming service, create a socially driven destination any time of the day.

In addition, over the past year, Costa Navarino formed partnerships with organizations such as the University of Piraeus and HospitableMe, for conducting research and understanding the needs of different groups and how these can be met in the tourism sector. In light of the results, Costa Navarino applied several practices to ensure that the needs of people from different cultural backgrounds, gender identities, ethnicities, and people with autism, visual, hearing and mobility impairments, are successfully met. The first steps have been taken, and the journey towards achieving a fully inclusive destination continues.

One of the most unspoiled and breathtaking seaside landscapes, Costa Navarino is shaped by 4,500 years of history. The Costa Navarino philosophy is driven by a genuine desire to preserve the natural beauty and heritage of Messinia. The destination comprises several distinct sites featuring five-star hotels, private residences, four signature golf courses, and many year-round activities.
