Air Canada relaunches non-stop Vancouver-Bangkok flights starting October 2024
Thailand has been in the news recently for it’s parliamentary passing of marriage equality, the only country in South-East Asia, and third in Asia (after Taiwan and Nepal). As well, it’s the film location for the upcoming third season of The White Lotus, so there’s no better time to book flights for your next exotic vacation adventure.
Getting there is about to get a lot easier with the relaunch of Air Canada‘s popular non-stop flights from Vancouver to Bangkok, with easy connections from Toronto and other North American cities possible with the late evening departure time. As well, with an early morning arrival in Bangkok, travellers are able to connect to destinations throughout Thailand and onward to a multitude of international destinations. Air Canada is the only carrier with non-stop service between North America and Thailand.
Bangkok has always been an LGBTQ+-friendly destination, and now with marriage equality becoming legal, there’s definitely going to be more interest in visiting other popular destinations as well, such as Chang Mai and Phuket. Air Canada has always been a proud supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, from their diversity hiring measures in the sky, to their continued presence at Pride festivals across the country. It only makes sense for the community to offer support back by combining a welcoming destination with a caring airline.
Originally launched in December 2022, the direct YVR-BKK route will restart on October 27, 2024 with three weekly flights through until the end of November, then five flights weekly between December and March, before returning to three weekly flights starting again in April, and the non-stop service pausing again May 1, 2025. Canadians will soon be able to travel to Thailand for tourism purposes up to 60 days (current tourist visa regulations allow for a maximum of 30-day stay in the Kingdom).
Flying and Arriving with Pride
As Canada’s flag carrier, Air Canada supports and celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusion in the air and on the ground. The airline is a proud member of IGLTA and supports its mission to advance LGBTQ+ travel. With Thailand’s diverse array of destinations, adventures, and experiences, along with the country’s rich culture, tantalizing cuisine, vibrant communities, and warm hospitality, fly to this ultra-friendly destination with Air Canada is a match made in the skies!
In Thailand, diversity is celebrated, and they are ready to warmly welcome everyone regardless of who you love or how you identify. Bangkok Pride takes place in June of each year, and sights are set on hosting World Pride in 2030!
