Celebrate Halloween and Day of The Dead at W Toronto with a signature Michelin meal and crafted cocktails – Oct 31 and Nov 1, 2024
On October 31st and November 1st, W Toronto hosts a one-of-a-kind collaboration to celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), featuring acclaimed Chefs and renowned mixologists. Michelin Star Chef Rafael Covarrubias, who was named a ‘One to Watch’ and finalist in the 2019 San Pellegrino Young Chef Competition, partners with W Toronto’s Executive Chef Olivier Le Calvez, blending Mexican traditions with contemporary French techniques in a six-course tasting menu at Skylight.
Covarrubias is head chef of Michelin Star Oakville restaurant Hexagon, ranked 26th on Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants list, he blends Mexican heritage with contemporary cuisine, earning him a spot in OHI’s top 30 under 30.
Complementing the culinary experience are expertly crafted cocktails from Mexico City’s famed Baltra Bar, ranked #6 in North America’s 50 Best Bars, alongside W Toronto’s own mixologist team. Each bespoke cocktail is designed to pair perfectly with the tasting menu, bringing this cultural celebration to life through a fusion of flavours and artistry.
Baltra Baris known for its laid-back, intimate vibe and expert cocktails. Led by renowned mixologist José Luis Leon, it has attracted a loyal following since 2015. Famous for Martini Tuesdays, Baltra offers inventive yet approachable drinks, including their latest menu, inspired by Darwin’s voyages.
October 31st: Día de los Muertos Take Over in Skylight, 6 PM – 11 PM
